Motorbike Accidents

We have a strong interest in motorbikes and any legal issues relating to them. Our managing partner is a biker and we understand the dangers that face every biker.

We undertake research into motorcycle accidents in an effort to provide comprehensive advice to our clients to avoid accidents. We know how necessary it is to drive very defensively. The most common accidents experienced by bikers are caused by a loss of control on bends and crashes with other cars where a right of way has been violated. Bikers are also particularly at risk when they overtake and filter between traffic. When there are accidents with other cars, research has shown that in two-thirds of cases, the driver of the car has violated the motorcyclist’s right of way and caused the crash. This highlights the dangers that bikers face from other road users and the need to take care on the road. In many cases, drivers simply do not see the motorcyclist as they are programmed to look for another car, not a bike.

We will bring you information on our site to minimise your chance of an accident.

However, if you have an accident, we can advise you. We have acted in motorbike accidents for many years arising from different circumstances.

If you are involved in an accident, bear the following in mind:

  • Make sure the guards are called.  They will make sure that all details are taken and that there is a good record of the accident scene.
  • Get the names, registration numbers and insurance details from all the other drivers.
  • If you are able, take photos on your camera phone of the scene of the accident before anything is moved. Make sure to include photos of marks and debris on the road.
  • Get the names and phone numbers of witnesses and addresses if possible. They have a habit of disappearing quickly.
  • If you are unlucky enough to be injured, keep a diary of your injuries as they progress and take photographs of your injuries at the start.

When you come to us, we will advise you if you have a good claim and we will take the necessary steps for you. We won’t charge any fees in motorbike cases. Your case must first go through Injuries Board, a government body which assesses damages if both parties agree. We will submit your claim to them. If their award is acceptable to both parties, that is the end of the matter. If not, your case will proceed to court.

If you’ve had an accident, anywhere in Ireland give Niall Farrell a call for an initial chat without cost or obligation.

I am really pleased to recommend Niall Farrell. Working on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy during the past four years I have found Niall to be efficient, solution orientated and very accurate in dealing with some extremely complicated title to property. His availability to us as clients, despite a busy practice, both pleases and amazes me.

"The service was very good. Whenever I had a query it was dealt with promptly. It was great that most of it could be done via email as it's not always easy to go to the office in person."
How likely on a scale of one to ten would you be to recommend us to others? "10."
